    Description

APOLLO 10 “GRUMMAN” MISSION INSIGNIA PATCH FLOWN TO THE MOON’S LUNAR ORBIT ABOARD APOLLO 10
Extremely rare and exceptionally desirable Apollo 10 “Grumman” embroidered shield-shaped mission insignia patch flown to the Moon’s lunar orbit aboard Apollo 10.  Directly from the personal collection of John Young via his estate and accompanied with a signed certificate of authenticity on personal letterhead from Young’s wife, Susy Young: “I hereby certify that the ‘Grumman’ Apollo 10 Embroidered Mission patch that accompanies this letter was flown to the Moon aboard the Apollo 10 mission May 18-26, 1969.  This patch was a part of John W. Young’s personal collection since the mission.”
DIRECTLY FROM THE PERSONAL COLLECTION OF COMMAND MODULE PILOT JOHN YOUNG VIA HIS ESTATE
The patch portrays the roman numeral X alongside the Grumman-made lunar module firing its thrusters as it prepares to dock on the Rockwell-made command service module with earth visible in the background, contains the mission name and crewmember surnames around the perimeter of the shield against a teal background, measures 4 by 4 inches, in pristine condition, and encapsulated in a tamper-proof sleeve and affixed to Susy Young’s certificate of authenticity.
ACCOMPANIED WITH A SIGNED CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY FROM YOUNG’S WIFE, SUSY YOUNG
A handsome example from the collection of the prolific American astronaut who went to the moon on Apollo 10 and walked upon the lunar surface on Apollo 16.  Three similar flown Apollo 10 patches recently sold for ,188 at Heritage Auctions in November 2014, ,636 at RR Auction in October 2017, and ,195 at RR Auction in October 2020.
