The strip chart pen is from the Launch control Center (LCC) at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) Florida.. Ever wonder what all those engineers are doing standing over some charts with bluesquiggly
lines on it ? This small pen used blue ink on a strip chart
recorder
to
provide
that data for
engineers
to review. This was an active spare. An active spare
meant
it was taped to the equipment rack
in case
one failed and it could be changed out in minutes. This device would feed the blue ink to the paper so engineers could analyze the data. This unit is from the
1960s prior to modern computers. This was part of my father's collection he had in the garage and his "man cave". The total length of the unit is about 3.5 inches. And a picture of the men that made it happen!
This is part of my late father’s collection of "stuff “where he worked at Kennedy space center in Florida for almost 40 years. During his tenure he had many positions such as flight engineer and test conductor. He participated in almost all of the missions such as the Gemini project and Apollo manned missions and the Shuttle program.
Never a canned or stock photo! My Photos are of the actual unit you are bidding on! No surprises here!
